The purpose of the new building is to provide the local community with a new Children Centre coupled with a new Nursery and adventure playground facilities

The New building is located in an area of the playground so that the Children's Centre is readily visible and accessible from the street. Although the Building is 2 storey, the perception of the building from the street is predominantly single storey with clerestory lighting and a monopitch roof to the rear to provide presence and bulk without being overbearing.

The design is predominantly modern in aspect with simple modulation of rendered and timber panels to create interest and playfulness given the nature of the use of the building for the young children and parents.
